Curriculum
The curriculum at St. Martin’s Preschool is a developmentally appropriate program that stimulates and reinforces all learning. Beginning at the youngest age and moving through the Pre-K years, the curriculum is integrated and continuous in its scope and sequence. Educational activities and tasks are designed to be age-appropriate and to enhance learning on all levels.
All classes implement “center-based learning.” This practice allows children to interact with their teachers and peers while learning basic concepts of literacy, math, science and art. Learning that takes place through social interaction allows children the opportunity to strengthen their social relationships while learning and sharing with others. Play is encouraged and integrated into all aspects of learning.
In addition to language, math, science and art activities, all children enjoy special classes in motor skills, music, character education and chapel. St. Martin’s Preschool’s curriculum encourages children to lead as well as learn, and teach as well as explore. It is with guidance and structure that we build character, respect and concern for others.
